Our dosing funnels are specifically designed to help eliminate the overflow of coffee grinds while dosing into your portafilter. Eliminating overflow helps you reduce mess, waste, and in turn, will result in much more consistent dosing weights.
Our 54mm espresso dosing funnels are designed to work specifically with the Breville/Sage 54mm portafilters found on the Barista Express, Barista Pro, Barista Touch, Bambino, Bambino Plus, Infuser and Duo-Temp Pro as well as the 54mm Solis machines.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When using machines such as the Breville Barista Express, the portafilter holder (used to hold the portafilter when dosing/grinding) cannot be used while the funnel is installed.

I like this funnel. It allows me to dose my hand-ground beans easily into the Breville Barista Express portafilter without mess and waste. I can then distribute and tamp the grounds effectively. I understand this was not intended to work with the built-in grinder holder. I have no issue with that. It was a clear expectation, and was not my use case. An added bonus, is this fits perfectly over top of my AeroPress chamber so I can dose my hand ground coffee into that easily when I'm not in the mood for espresso. Win-win.

The funnel seems to be made from high quality material and it looks great. However, I have two issues with it. The primary is after using a WDT tool (while the funnel is on the portafilter), when lifting the funnel off there is always coffee on the edges of the portafilter and some may even have snuck out. This means that before further distribution/tamping you need to push down the coffee on the edges of the portafilter, unless you are fine with spilling a bit of coffee in the process, which I am not. I think it just a bit annoying and slows down the workflow/process. The other issues, is that is does not sit that firmly on the portafilter. It's rare, but it happens that it falls off if I use the WDT tool a bit to rough. I think this could easily be solved by magnets, as other brands do. I am even using the Crema portafilter, so I'm a confused on how many give this a 5 review without mentioning this as an issue. I have a 3D printed funnel from Etsy, that does not look anywhere as good, but does a much better job at keeping all the coffee in the portafilter.
