The Tamper/Distributor Combo helps you achieve a consistent tamp, every time. It's a convenient dual-purpose tool that allows you to evenly distribute your coffee grounds, and then tamp them with consistent pressure.

The Bottomless (aka naked) Portafilter is an essential tool for identifying and correcting extraction problems that cannot be seen with standard spouted portafilters. If you want to achieve those beautiful tiger stripes in your extraction, this is the tool to choose.

PLEASE NOTE: With the Bottomless Portafilter, channeling and spurting can be very messy, but are EXTREMELY common. This is not a defect of the portafilter itself, but instead is your coffee telling you that there's room for improvement in your preparation process (grind size, tamping, distribution, etc.).
