Load your portafilter basket with the desired amount of freshly ground coffee. Keep things tidy by using our Dosing Funnel.
Step 2: Prepare
Retract the distributor side to its shallowest depth, and place the distributor on your portafilter, blade side down.
Step 3: Distribute
Gently spin the distributor until your coffee grounds have been evenly distributed and leveled. If the distributor does not reach the coffee, adjust the depth accordingly. Note: you do not want to be applying heavy pressure to the grounds at this stage -- only enough to level the coffee in the basket.
Step 4: Tamp
Flip the distributor over and extend the tamper (flat side) to its maximum height. Tamp your grounds to your desired pressure. For consistent tamping every time, adjust the tamper depth so it matches the depth of the tamp you just created.
Extremely well built, feels premium. Only complaint is the extension of the tamp and distributor or linked and it limits the reliability of the tamping depth.
This tamper is by far one of the best that I've ever used. The distribution feature ensures the grounds are evenly placed. The tamper itself has a good weight to it which helps to tamp the espresso perfectly each time. This product will eliminate any inconsistencies in espresso tamping/distribution. Tamper and distributor works well, is nice and heavy. Only issue I had is with customer service. I contacted them twice. it’s been over 4 weeks and no response. If you are buying near a holiday, wait to see if it goes on sale. I bought mine and a day later it went on sale for 25% off. So sucks to have paid that much more. Should’ve been a little more patient.
